Late for bhairavi , only heard the swaram. I am not used to hear koluvai in the
beginning, though clarified with my periappa that Ariyakudi used to sing the same .(Surprise there)
Most of the rest were all excellent .I particularly liked the dhanyAsi which I have not heard before.THe best to me was his very elaborate viruttam of GKB's nandAnar charithram .Especially liked the shanmughapriya and kuntalavarAli .The jump to maname nee eesan nAmathai was welcome to me. Did not like the behAg that much.
THe usual rapid fire of kannadagowlai swaram was excellent .For me hearing a poorvikalyAni was refreshing as my kutcheri this season was always overloaded with Bhairavi, kAmbOdhi tOdi and Shankarabharanam. The neraval of madhura puri nilaye was done in 3 cycles. One in a slower cycle ,the second with longer akaram .The third cycle of open throated tara sthayi did not touch the usual excellence of suryaprakash .The swarams were long and very good.
Shri SVK mAma spoke a lot of suryaprakash and also reduced the concert by 15 minutes time :rolleyes:.Liked the petra tAi in the kApi and nAttaikurinji. I am not a big fan of maname kanamum (incidentally Shri SVK mAma requested
).Tani was below average , possibly Trvr Vaidyanathan got demotivated as there was a very heavy exodus at the end of poorvikalyAni. Violinist was just average most of the time.
