this concert was very good and sounded like a proper carnatic concert. Madam's voice was is good form and she presented a good mix of compositions. Subapantuvarali was very good and also valaji song was good.
Items 9 onwards were requests and hence 'her hits'
Interestingly Bhagayda Lakshmi song was not sung in Madyamavati or Shri raga but in a raga sounding like Lalitha or Revagupthi or Kalgada etc. Aruna Sairam sings this in Kalgada (Bhimsen Joshi !! style)
Once again congrats and heartfelt thanks to Pradosham committee and Ragamalika committee for organising this function - it was very well managed.

As much as the vocalist, accompanists too stole the show. Bangalore Rajasekhar became the star among the children with his varied sounds on the morsing during thani. Sudha remarked, “ithunoondu samanatha vechundu pattaya kiLaparAr …”
A very emotive post-main. She did have notes for some of the songs. I did not quite understand why she had to pick up that Sai bhajan, if lyrics were not known. Got struck in the middle, sang what came to her mind.
Two very contrasting concerts in 6+ hours of a day for a very Carnatic-music “deserted” audience.
