I have seen Sri A Sankar Raman in a chamber concert two years ago, where he played janani ninnuvinA, and a vAcaspati main kaNTa jUDumi to remember. I wanted to request the krti again (as a non-main), and that happened.

This concert unfortunately clashed with Vyasarpadi Kothandaraman's nAdaswaram recital at Rama Seva Mandali. I chose to attend this since the venue is arguably closer-by, ASR's concerts are EVEN harder to come by, and because I like the ambience of SRLK.

However, the crowd was tiny, and much of it came quite some time into the concert, a rarity in SRLK. I reached the hall around 5:10 (concert was to begin at 5:30), and a few minutes later the organizer was expressing his worry about the thin audience to ASR. I overall found the list dragging, manOdharma was extremely cut short everywhere. There was still so much to enjoy in the renditions of niravadhisukhadA and, of course, the kaNTa jUDumi and the vAcaspati -- and the karuNimpa and vAtApi gaNapatim the concert's beginning. The tani was also very good. I felt a neraval or a few rounds of swarams at ravicandrika or kApinArAyaNi might have made everything so much more sprightly.

I did wish I'd gone to see Sri Kothandaraman, though. Hope someone else on the forum attended his concert and writes about it...

Hmm... I seem to losing out on what's happening in bangalore. jayan's site didn't have this - srikant - how did you come to know about this?

The Hindu mentioned it. Btw they have another veena recital, by Sri RK Padmanabha of Mysore, on 13th. That should interest you.
