Lessons on Neraval Singing by Chitravina Ravikiran

Acharyanet(http://www.acharyanet.com) recently released a new set of lessons on Neraval singing taught by Shri Chitravina N Ravikiran, recorded as part of the ongoing workshop series commemorating the centenary of the legends T Brinda and Madurai Mani Iyer. The topic for Part II of this series was on 'Neraval and Javalis and rare krthis from the Brinda repertoire' and was conducted as a 2 day workshop in Chennai recently. The event was recorded live and made available on the Acharyanet website for the benefit of all students.

The Neraval singing was covered in 2 parts. Various approaches and techniques of Neraval singing were covered on Day 1 followed by advanced techniques and application to pallavis on Day 2. The attention to minute details , especially fundamental concepts are eye-opening and along the lines of a teaching methodology that resonates with any audience, student or rasika.
