The first day was a cracker of a concert.

Poorvikalyani- Nagaraj; Varali- Manjunath and RTP in charukesi.

Great enthusiasm among the artists. Mys.Nagaraj, Manjunath, Arjun Kumar, Guruprasanna and Giridhar udupa. Appeared to be childhood chums. Their spirit caught on with the audience as well. A high decibel performance at times but nonetheless very enjoyable. The thani was one of the best I have heard in a long time.

Yesterday Maharajapuram ramachandran was a soothing experience. Absolute sruti suddham. Deep voice. I enjoyed a lot. Shanmukhapriya main followed by RTP in madhyamavathi, with ragamalika swarams in "Hamsa" ragams, ~naadam, ~dhwani,~aanandi, ~vinodhini. Yaarige Vaduvaaguve, a beutiful piece popularised by M.Santhanam. The inevitable Bho-Sambho to conclude. Nice concert.

Important to mention that after many permutations and combinations, Nadasurabhi has landed in a good hall with top class acoustics. Brand new auditorium. Hope they continue here.

Today it is Abhishek.R.

Yes... Well nearly. Same entrance. Same parking. The hall is a new one about hundred yards inside. There are good directions from the entrance.

Yesterday attended Abhishek Raghuram Concert.. and as mentioned earlier by kssr, the hall has one of the best acoustics of Bangalore Sabhas. howver, the sound engineer needs to have a musical ear to understand the balance between the vocalist and the accompaniments. hardly could hear violin and Khanjira in the concert.

Today was the best in the series so far. Ranjani and Gayathri. Sahana RTP. I hope some one will write a detailed review.

I felt their last year concert was better.

I felt Abhisekh's concert was excellent, compared to this. These are my observations.
Hope, I am not opening any pandora's box.

Yesterday, was a good concert.

I reached only when they started the nerval in keeravani, and I left when they announced they are going to conclude with abhang.
I felt Keeravani should have more sowkhyam (which anyway I cannot explain)
Sahana can be more crisper, I still cannot stop listening to KVN's in RTP in Sahana.
The ragamalika swarams after RTP and virutham were good.

The Tumkur brothers always play well. I listened to them in Indiranagar sabha few months back.

Raman

It was a very good concert. I stayed till the end of RTP. But I felt that their Fort High school concert earlier this year was much better. I know it isn't fair to compare two concerts like this. But the Abheri and Kamboji of that day were stellar. Yesterday's was a fine concert, but the sisters are capable of much much more.

25 Nov 2012
Dr N Ramani - Flute
Sri CN Chandrasekhar - Violin
Sri Tumkur Ravishankar - Mridangam
Smt Sukanya Ramgopal - Ghatam

viribhONi - bhairavi - aTa [varNam]
vAtApi - haMsadhvani - Adi - MD [S]
cinnanADEna - kalAnidhi - Adi - T
shankari nIvE - bEgaDa - rUpaka - Sub. Shastri [R]
maRivERE - Anandabhairavi - cApu - SS [R]
rAmA nIyeDa - kharaharapriya - Adi - T [RS]
tani
bindumAlini rAgam
a rAgamAlika bhajan
behAg Lalgudi tillAna - trishra Adi
bhAgyada lakShmI bAramma - madhyamAvati - Adi - PD

It was a great concert.

The varNam pUrvAngam and uttarAngam were each played in two speeds, the uttarAngam being faster all through. Indeed, after finishing the varNam, Ramani mama said he forgets his age when he plays, and we could see that!

The AlApanais and compositions in bEgaDa and Anandabhairavi were in Ramani mama's usual class.

The swarams in kharaharapriya were inspiring.

I found Sri Ravishankar's tani with Smt Sukanya for tana saukhyamu considerably more interesting than the one for bAgugA shrI rAmuni the previous day.

While Sri Ravishankar's accompaniment was excellent, it would have been wonderful if Sri TAS Mani himself had come. I can never forget his beautiful accompaniment for TNK in his concerts at Ananya and Sanjay Nagar Ganesh temple last year ...
