This song is sung frequently in the bhajan sampradaya, as a prayer to Satguru Shri Gopalakrishna Bhagavathar.

P : How much fortunate should I be, Oh ! Satguru, how much penance should I have done ( in my previous births ) to get your blessings !

AP : Even after studying and understanding the Vedas , it will be of no use, if I don't have your blessings.

Thanks classicallover for posting the beautiful meaning of this song. Wish i knew the meanings of songs composed by Sri OVK and Smt. Ambujam Krishna. Beautiful tamizh songs but sadly i dont know the meaning of these songs, inspite of the fact that i am a tamil speaking person. Being brought up in Mumbai.... so i miss the profound meaning of tamizh songs. Is there any website for meanings ?
