A few points:

1) G Chandrasekara Sarma played the Ghatam.

2)

No, that should be ONE guru (8 aksharams). The talam can be thought of as a Tishra Dhruvam + One Guru, making a total of 19 aksharams. Sowmya, in response to the audience question, did say there is no specific name in texts for such a structure, but she named it Gowreeshwara, in honour of Dr. S. Ramanathan and his wife Gowri!

3) The Harikambhoji kriti had an intriguing rendam-kettaan kaalapramanam (kind of a fast 2-kalai), making the melkalam neraval and swara exercises very intricate and superbly executed

yes. it was indeed a wonderful concert. especially the precision with which she executed the shanmukhapriya tanam at a great speed was breathtaking. the ragamalika swarams were in abhogi and mohanam and ended in "sada" like the pallavi line starting. it was a very enjoyable concert. i was in the balcony and there was a very good crowd who enjoyed the concert equally and stayed through.
