Members Photo

Post by KNV1955 »

Admin: Is it possible to make provision for uploading Photos of Members. It can be optional. That way we can recognize each other when we see in concerts.

We used to have provision for affixing photos or other icons to members earlier. There were problems with privacy and identification controversies and hence was withdrawn. I will draw attention to your request to the Admin and he will respond...

For those members on Facebook, there is an Facebook group called Rasikas.org. Some of the people on that group have photos there which others can see.

If you like, open up a thread in the Member Lounge section asking people to provide their facebook identities. This way those who really want to not remain anonymous can provide that info.

Or

in the facebook group, ask them to provide their rasikas.org benami names.

Although the forum allows 'avatar' images, I think most would prefer to share their facebook profile if they want to network outside the forum.

Once you update your facebook profile URL by going to http://www.rasikas.org/forums/ucp.php and entering it in the 'Website' field, a small 'globe icon' will show up under your username in each post like it does on this post which can be clicked to go to the FB profile of the member concerned.

share their facebook profile
Some of don't, and probably never will, have one. We are going through a time in which "facebook" and "internet" are becoming synonymous, which I think is a great shame.

Actually, it seems that I do have a facebook account that I have never used or got around to cancelling. I'm pleased that it never drew me away from the several forums, such as this one, where I spend my internet time.

"avatars" on Raskas? Actually, of the several forums I frequent, most members choose some other picture or symbol, rather than their faces, to represent themselves on-line.

It's always nice to see Rasikas-event photos when they get put on the net. It's useful for those of us who were there, and whose bad hearing and bad brain cells need to be told a name three or four times before getting it.

But, if "avatars" come to rasikas.org... well, I'm neutral about that. I probably wouldn't add my own photo...
