This was another cracker of a concert by the brothers, a rather short but sweet one, lasting just over 1.5 hours. This was the final part of a day long musical conference held by Tumkur University and Gayana Samaja. I was surprised the audience strength was very poor, probably because this was not mentioned in today's events in the newspaper.
The concert started late by 6:10, because the previous programme ate into the concert time and finished only by 5:50.

The brothers however wasted no further time and started with a brisk kriti in kuntalavarali, followed by the shanmukhapriya kriti, which had interesting swara patterns played.
The next was the main piece in kharahapriya. When they started playing the ragam i guessed they would play chakkani raja, but was glad that they didnt, they however played rama neeyeda. This was followed by a spirited thani by the seasoned Srimushnam Raja rao and Giridhar Udupa.
They concluded with a kannada kriti in bageshri.

I was disappointed that the concert lasted only 1.5 hours. when the main piece came quickly, i was hoping they would play an RTP later, but that was not to be. I heard they had to complete soon since the whole day has been busy with different programmes. I wondered what is the use in having such a short concert by artistes of such callibre?! They surely should be given atleast 2 hours, i would have surely loved a 3 hour concert by them.
