i have no idea about the sabhas at chennai.i am residing at mysore and i am giving the vocal cocerts at present at various places in and around the state.i.e.karnataka. can i get the chance at chennai to show my talent. if yes how i need to approach?please give the directions.

well try contacting sabha secretaries

before which you could write to them and probably send along a tape or CD or something they could listen to u.

later, you might need to meet them in person and sing for them.

when you get a chance to sing in madras, dont ever forget to call and personally invite all possible sabha secretaries and others so that if atleast one or two turn-up and then they could call you.

this is what i see people doing. not sure, if it is the best fool-proof way.

Why not make a bouquet of the best pieces from various concerts,make a tape of them and send it to various sabha secretaries. Request for concerts. that would be a good beginning. You should start at least by May or so in order to get a slot in the music festival in Nov07 to Jan 08 season.

Also put in a small clip for us rasikas in rasika.org. As correctly stated by Coolji, we will be the first one to support your cause....

I think if you are hardworking & determined & if your heart is set on it, you will not have too much of trouble.

I am resident in South Africa & give performances here. I was fortunate enough to be able to perform in Chennai during the December Season 2005/2006 at Naada Inban (Mylapore) & Raga Sudha (Velachery).....thanks to some help from the kind hearted KN Shashikiran of Carnatica. Hope this helps!!!
