concert of carnatica brothers at sima la on 20th apr.2013

Carnatica Brothers sri.Shasi kiran and Sri Ganesh made this concert which produced discovery in the varnam navaragamalika INTHAGOPA and and Saveri Krithi of Tygaraja Tulasi Jagjjanani Which I have not heard before, in my 75 years of music life which was very pleasing.To represent the date of this concert 2oth april (4th month) the Pallavi had vanasapathi(4ht mela) and natabairavi(20th mela) and totaling this month and date and the year 13=33 was the main Raga GANgeya Bhushani(33th mela)and totaling all with another 20 and 4=57 the raga sumathuthi was also sung in the raga malika which had the lyrics pradayini mrudhubhashani gangeya bhushani(33rd mela) simatheetha sangeetha gnana(the word sima represents the venue where the concert was sung)thus a new innovation in pallavi which also had thisragathi laghu chathusra jaathi thripuda taalam which was later was the thani avarthana beautifuly done by the famous accompanying mridangist sri mannargudi easwaran who praised this tala as most difficult.Enda vedukondu in
saraswathi manohari and aberi raga alapana was produced in style with bajerare manasa by (vasudevachar krithi) and finally with thillana of our great Lalgudi Jyaraman in Revathi. The vilolnist nagai muralidharan was outstanding in his manodarma as good as the vocalists. In all we had a wonderful experience of high quality music. Raman chakravarthy

Dear rasikas, I made an error in stating the raga of final thillana in the above concert of carnatica brothers on 20 th april 2013 at SIMA which should be Bindumalini instead of Revathi. I don't know the composer of this thillana but this raga was brought into existence by our Great Thyagraja in his wonderful Krithi Entha Muddo Entha sohusu which was beautifully sung by the late shri Lalgudi Jayaraman. It is also a great innovation by carnatica brothers as I hear this thillana for the first time. Excuse me for the error. Raman Chakravarthy

There is a bindumalini thillana composed by chitraveena Ravikiran. It could have been that one

This year is shaping up to be the year for Bindu Malini? We have heard about it in three different occasions already.
