Re: Request Translation of Annamacharya's "shringAra mUritiv
You are the figure of beauty,The Father of cupid, you were seen like this. O!{Lord} with a moon like face.[p]
In a float of flowers, you rode with women, the sky showered flowers, while the clear sky thundered, {believed to be auspicious }
the gods served,may you be attentive, {lord} with a moon like face [c1]
While grandeur, pomp and pagentry fitted perfectly, women danced,the gods perceived you from the sky,
music,percussion instuments,were played most cleverly, you were seen floating like this, O! {Lord} with a moon
like face. [c2]
While in the house of gold[built} in the pond, you duly partook {of the festivities} with indirA {godess Lakshmi}
sporting in water majesticaly, consistently, astonishing as a feast for the eyes, SrI vemkaTESha,{Lord} with a
moon like face [c3]
{sasa or saSha means a rabbit.saShAnka is moon.
sasamukha is one who has the face of the moon
with an image of a rabbit.So the translation has
been done accordingly. Corrections welcome}
{sAvadhAnamuga:: means,alert, watchful.
In this keertana, it is to be assumed as, part of a virudAvali to God}
