9. Saramaina Matalantho charu charu - Behag
10. Seli Neneku - ?
11. Mangalam

I went 15 minutes late, so I might have missed the first song.

a. What I liked about the concert is the load of new songs ( for me).

b. This kutcheri format looks similar to what Sanjay did in last year in Bangalore when he sang Bahudhari RTP in terms of concert timing. Same way Gurucharan could get enough time for the RTP. Actually I was expecting a sankarabaranam song due to the fact that this is Shivarathri season. But he was pushing sankaraparanam alapana quickly, I was wondering what is left out and then came Todi alapana. That was a sudden surprise. For Todi and Darbar thanam, the rhythm was performed. Moving from one raga to another was very smooth. It was a great effort. There is one album by TMK on this RTP item.

d. I liked the begada and sucharitha alapana. They were excellent. He has also become very strong in swaras.

e. Overall I enjoyed the concert. Thanks to organisers. There were no mention of this concert in the newspaper , so crowd was less. But this auditorium is the best in bangalore for a small concert. It is very nice to note that with all tamil TV channels off the air in bangalore, artist from TN coming and performing here is a good gesture and makes me feel proud as a tamilian. And I feel the channels should come back soon (politics!).

Hi Rajeshnat,

Alapana:

The alapana was done in all four ragas by gurucharan. The pattern of gurucharan was below.
1. sankarabaranam, then violin played sankarabaranam ( both did not complete this raga alapana)
2. then jumped to Todi and then violin played todi
3. then gurucharan jumped to Kalyani and durbar together. These were not as elaborate as sankarabaranam and todi . Now violinist played only durbar. May be lack of time.
4. then Gurucharan completed the rest of sankarabaranam and moved to thanam.

Thanam :
Thanams in all four ragas were performed by both. But during todi and durbar , ie on alternate thanams, mrithangam and gatam (rhythm) also accompanied (like navaratri mantapam style) at much smoother fashion. This was suggested by someone in the audience and Gurucharan agreed. Jumping in thanams to different raga was neatly and I feel it is difficult.

Pallavi neraval and swarams :
There were lots of mixes and I donot remember how he mixed.

But there were no further ragamalika swaramas in to new ragas.

Difficult to explain thr mail. But thanks for the interest shown.

2. Inta paraku nive - Bhairavi - GNB - neraval at kannadhali dhanri sujanu (NS)

Rajaglan, are you sure this song is in Bhairavi? I also have heard another Intaparaka in Nadanamakriya where SSI used to do neraval at the line with the same words (Kannatalli tandri sujanu).

Hi,

The accompanist list is updated. Sangeetharasigan, it should have been nadanamakriya. I modified it.
