Re: Rakthi rAgam
Fundamentally, something that is evocative is a rakthi ragam. Harikambhoji janyaas are very evocative, mostly because of the N2, which kind of adds a little 'minor' feel to the melody. Sahana (Chittam Irangaaden Ayya), Nattakkurinji etc. are prime examples that evoke the karuna rasa. This is but one of the 9 rasas.
Other melodies evoke many other feelings.
