Creation of Illusions, the epochal success of Performers!

Post by munirao2001 »

Is success of performers owing to the epochal creation of Illusion? My thinking and attempts on the understanding and realization of success or failure of a performer lead to the set of beliefs, as communicated in my written and published article “Karnatic Music, Tradition and Enlightenment, reproduced here.
“What attracts crowds and how to make Karnatic music popular?
- Above average talent, practice, presentation and performing skills.
- Popularity of the Guru and well published blessings of the religious head(s).
- Attractive voice, spontaneity, ability to excite and good net working ability.
- Hitting the platform, young and early.
- Publicizing the success and endorsements from successful persons in the society.
- Uncanny ability to understand the expectations and demands of the rasikas and fine tuning their performances to meet the same. Effective communication with rasikas, to arouse arrest and keep their riveting attention on them and their music.
- High profile and show of wealth.
- Above all, damn smile of lady of luck!”
My perseverance and search for elusive truth has resulted in clear perception of the success of a performer, but still in the realm of speculation. Performer duly strengthened by their talents and practice and assisted by the promoters-Guru, Opinion makers- individuals of preeminence in the field of arts and literature, Event organizers, Media-both the print and the visual, Sponsors and finally Patrons, the Rasikas; first creates and offers new thinking and fresh approach; with emerging strong wave of support, carefully builds the edifice of the style. The style, receiving popular encouragement, support and idolatry- being hailed as ‘one and one only and ‘Na bhootho Na bhavishyati’ freely- leads to the performer’s strong and fortified thought of understanding and realization of popularity, its cause and effect. Performer thus creates the illusion of high value of pleasure and well being. Achieving success of reaching to the mass over the class, rarely both, becomes epochal. Truly, creates illusion of false consciousness, superficial in nature. Popularity and success wanes with the disappearance of false consciousness with time and suppressed or subsumed by yet another new epochal illusion and false consciousness. These patterns of occurrences are akin to the thinkers creating illusion, epochal in religion.

Goals and its values are products of conditioned mind. Achievement of success, acceptance and endorsement, subjective and becoming collective leads to realized state. The state stays for a period and wanes. Another's success (assumed) leads to yet another never ending cycle. Thus rises the thought and inquiry 'Is success the creation of illusions?'
