It is the much-maligned Music Academy that will host a session on Lalgudi Sri Jayaraman's compositions whereas the much-touted alternative sabhas are arachufying aracchamaavu by featuring also-rans again and again, hoping against hope that the vellimookku bhagavathars will suddenly turn into pedigreed race horses and win the Triple Crown of Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Sangeetha Choodamani and Sangeetha Kala Sarathy! )

Prof Venkitaramanan is a very senior Vidvan who retired from the Swati Thirunal College of Music,Trivandrum .He is a respected Guru of many upcoming musicians. He has given concerts at the Navratri Mandapam, Trivandrum and many pretigious venues at Chennai,Bengaluru etc.
He received the AIR I prize in 1956 and received the award from the then president of India
He is a repository of numerous kritis of Swati Tirunal, Muthiah Bhagavatar and Purandaradasar apart from the trinity.
I request music lovers to note and attend the programme.

If you are in Chennai for this December Music Season & if you are free on Dec 25th Wednesday at 2pm, I request your gracious presence for this Two 'Special Layavinyasam' programmes of 40mins each has been organized in memory of Khanjira Vidwan Sri B S Purushotham's father and guru Sri.B.Seetharam and Mridangam Vidwan B'lore Sri.M.L.Veerabhadraiyya on DEC 25TH, 2013 at Naada Inbam,Ragasudha hall, Mylapore between 2pm and 3.30pm. This program has been organized by Khanjira Vidwan Sri B S Purushotham.

1)Vidwan Sri. Anantha R Krishnan [Mridangam] and Vidwan Sri.B.Shreesundarkumar [Khanjira] from 2pm-2.40pm.

2)Konnakkol Duet by Vidwan Sri.B.R.Somashekar Jois and Vidwan Sri.R.Karthik from 2.50pm-3.30pm.

If you are free, i request you to kindly attend this 'Feast of Percussion' along with your family & friends and support Indian Traditional Artform - Konnakkol.
