Voices of Tomorrow, Nov. 26-29 2013
The ARTery presents the second edition of VOICES OF TOMORROW, an exclusive music festival featuring some of the brightest talents in Indian classical music below the age of 30. To be held at Srinivasa Sastri Hall, Luz, Chennai the event is from November 26th to 29th 2013.
Conceptualized by Ramanathan Iyer, music buff and editor of The ARTery, the festival is intended as a curtain raiser for Chennai's December music season with an emphasis on aesthetics and traditional content. This year's festival is dedicated to Prof. T. R. Subramanyam, eminent vocalist and guru who passed away a few months back. There will be four concerts, one on each day. Rithvik Raja, R. Raghavendra, Vidya Kalyanaraman and Sriranjani Santhanagopalan will be presenting Carnatic kutcheris, with a pallavi as centrepiece dedicated to Sri. TRS. The concerts will be enhanced by the support of seasoned accompanists.
The ARTery is also associating with Shabda, an online archival initiative for classical arts conceptualized by musicians T. M. Krishna, R. K. Shriramkumar & H. K. Venkatram, to host thirty-minute talks on each day of the festival by prominent artistes & experts on topics of interest to music lovers and students. These talks will be videographed and permanently archived on the websites http://www.theartery.in and http://www.shabda.co.in for free worldwide access.

Re: Voices of Tomorrow, Nov. 26-29 2013
the_ARTery team - thanks for a lovely lineup.
Despite the web hiccups I managed to watch today's program with KS Kalidas and Rithvik Raja.
I also watched yesterday's lecdem by Sriram Parasuram - very lucid and honest. Enjoyed it (watched it offline).
Today's talk by KS Kalidas was pretty good - though a bit off the topic at a few occassions.
Rithvik was average - the boy needs to wake up to his sruti lapses..couldn't bear the lapses despite the 4 raga RTP effort.
Thanks team.

Re: Voices of Tomorrow, Nov. 26-29 2013
Yesterday, I could only catch snatches of the presentation by Vid. Sowmya on padams and javalis. She seemed to be demonstrating how highly evolved the Brinda school was in presenting these rare compositions. She hinted that the effort to learn and render them would at a minimum make us much more sensitive to the nuances of that sophistication.
Is it possible to get another lec-dem by Vid. Sowmya on this theme? Where, please? She seems to be particularly good at presenting on this topic.
