Re: request for meaning-rAmakrSNa gOvinda
here's my attempt at writing the meaning -
FIRST ONE IMPORTANT CORRECTION - CH:5 should be patituDanu mimmu bratimAlu konna =
patita = fallen; patituDanu = (i am) the fallen one; if we say patituDavani = patituDavu +ani (you are the fallen one which is very very wrong); bratimaalu = pleaded or begged.
P: O ramakrishna, govinda, narayana, hari.
C1: when i called O ramakrishna with love, why dont you even show your face Narayana
ramakrishna+ani (so); prEma+tO = with love; pilachitE= when (i) called; mOmu ayina (face even); choopavu+Emi= (you) dont show-why or what?
C2: he with garuda (born from egg) as vahana, lotus eyed (pundari+aksha), we came to your protection /nearness narayana = nee+anda = neeyanda your protection /nearness; chErinaamu+ayya = (we) reached +sir /father. narayana
C3: Madhava, vishnu, slayer of demon madhu, sridhara, he who reclines on adisesha, srimaan narayana
C4: vAsudeva, mukunda (a precious stone) O he with the forest garland (vanamali), he with the chakra, narasimha, achyuta (permanent or not fallen) narayana
C5: i am fallen (i) begged of you; husband of sita, why dont you bless me (kaavavu+emi = (you) dont bless or heed me - why or what? narayana
patituDu+anu =(i am) fallen (patituDu= he who is fallen) mimmu= you (with respect); bratimaalu konna = pleaded; (bratimaalu= pleading, konna=did - like nivedan kiya in hindi).
C6: bless ramadasa with love; o rama of bhadrachala sri narayana (Bhadrachala ramuDu; it could also be Bhadrachala dhaamuDu = he who resides in bhadrachala).

Smt. Savitri, thank you! Beautiful translation! A beautiful use of ANDaja to describe garuDa! Is ANDa an ancient word in Telugu, or is it something that came to be incorporated from the Muslim influences? IIRC, islAm was already established in India at the time of Sri rAmadAsuDu.

rshankar jI,
It is fine. No problem.
The word *anDa* means nearness or proximity in telugu.
The word *aNDaja* is a sanskrit word.
Regards.

Shankar,
aNDa - meaning egg - is a Sanskrit word which has morphed - as aNDA - in Hindi and thence to Urdu. brahmANDa is a well known word referring to Universe. aNDaja refers to all kinds of species born from egg - often with particular reference to garuDa

Re: request for meaning-rAmakrSNa gOvinda
noted the posts. yes - anDa in sanskrit means egg - usually referring to the 'egg' from which world originated. anDaja refers to born from egg - usually bird or Brahma or sometimes even fish /lizard /snake. it seems also that anDadharah refers to Siva and one meaning of anDa is siva - (dont know how though).
