I have run into fellow rasikas at various sabhas and one of them suggested I put down a synopsis. I thought that was a great idea. Thank you to all musicians, sabhas and organisers for the lovely feast of music that has been on offer this past 15 days and more. Starting in mid-December with the veteran Shri RK Srikantan's peaceful concert, I fittingly concluded with a masterly RTP by Abhishek yesterday in Kalyani-Kiravani.
In between, were many special concerts with new ragas, new compositions, interesting lecdems, new friends made.... Some memorable ones were Poorvi Kalyani by Ramakrishna Murthy, Lathangi by Bharat Sundar, Bhairavi by K. Gayathri, Dhanyasi by Sriranjani Santhanagopalan, Madhyamavati by Gayatri Venkataraghavan, Shankarabaranam by Savitha Narasimhan, Jhankaradhwani by Carnatica Brothers, Mukhari by Sowmya, Thodi by Chitravina Ravikiran, Yamuna Kalyani by TM Krishna, RTP in Hamir Kalyani by RaGa, Kharaharapriya by Bombay Jaishree, concert by Sanjay S and thillana by the Lalgudi duo.
My only regret is that I heard not one veena concert. Some days are packed and the location limits your choices. Thanks again to one and all for a wonderful Season 2013 :ymapplause:

MV,
better late than never... try the Parivadini links for two veena concerts - Nirmala Rajashekhar and Ashwin Anand.
I would love your comments after a listen (video too).
YOU seem to have enjoyed really rich fare. Is there something called indigestion from too much rich CM?
Yours enviously

Thank you RSachi. I will definitely try the Parivadini links. There are a few others I missed that I want to hear there. And will post comments later.
But indigestion??? I actually have withdrawal symptoms today

Re: December Season 2013
Certainly. I was suffering it for previous two or three days: the feeling that the music was coming out of my ears (sadly, not my mouth!) rather than going in, and that I would not be able to justice to any performer, especially a senior one, for several weeks.Rsachi wrote: Is there something called indigestion from too much rich CM?
What was the cure? Why! More music of course! (I think they call that "hair of the dog") --- Shashank's wonderful 1-Jan flute concert was amazingly refreshing, and Sumithra's amazing RS Hall concert, last night, transcended all "digesting" systems and went straight to the soul.
I may even be able to do some just ice to MVs own performance, coming on 5th

The erratic visitor that I am to rasikas, I have just seen your post Nick
RSachi thanks for your suggestions. I thoroughly enjoyed both concerts. NOW, my Season is complete after the 2 veena concerts. It is great to have a choice of good vainikas as well along with vocals. While I am here, I want to add couple of concerts I heard in parts for various reasons. S. Mahathi sang a beautiful Nidimathi, DB Ashwin RTP in Vagadeeshwari and Shertalai Ranganatha Sharma probably the best Dwijavanthi I've heard for Chetasri.
