Sub : Good flutes (South Indian classical music).

I am a student, practising flute (South Indian classical music). I want to buy the traditional bamboo flutes of shruthi 3 and 4 .

In the yester decades, the late Mr. Shankara Lingam was manufacturing excellent quality flutes. But now-a-days, his son, nephew, and many other flute-makers (of Karnataka, TN, North India, etc,) are not able to come up to the level of the late Mr. Shankara Lingam. There is dearth for good quality raw material bamboo, and also for skilled flute manufacturers.

Do you know of any flute maker who can manufacture good flutes ?? Or, if you already have got good flutes to spare, then would you mind if I buy your used / old flutes ??

What kind of flute are you looking for - Assam Bamboo or Bamboo from South? If Assam bamboo is fine, there is a flute maker in Delhi(I think Subhash is his name).
I have heard he makes good flutes. Let me know which one you prefer.
