Re: A superb melharmonic piece
Uday,
Sounds SO colourful and paints a picture of an Oriental extravaganza. The clever use of Western percussion provides a refreshing dimension. The sounds are VERY rich from all the strings...
Must confess this was my first mel harmonic listen.
I think the maestro is ready to compose and create and conduct symphonic/operatic pieces for presentation by the Bolshoi and such.
The themes could be any from the great Indian romances like the Ramayana or Savitri or Bhageeratha or Samudra manthan or Krishna's move to Mathura...
When Vivekananda saw Sarah Bernhardt in Paris, he was very much moved. To my mind, the cultured Indian ethos responds well to meticulously created western musical operatic ballets based on an Indian theme. (I am thinking here also of Peter Brooks' Mahabharata).
Of course Chitraveena Ravikiran brings to mel- harmony his 24 Carat Carnatic mastery.
Thank you.

Here's a link to Ravikiran's original 72 mela-ragamalika geetam, which preceded the western composition.
