A brief rAga sketch of sAveri followed by a very good rendition of sAveri varnam with both speeds being sung well. Hamsadhwani settled well , but gurucharan could have added a significantly more weight on swara aksharam especially towards the last section of the swaram. Ahiri was emotively sung .

A very elaborate sahana alApana was sung well with Smt lalgudi vijayalakshmi taking a fairly long time to complete . The krithi was good , but gurucharan could have added more weight in his voice in rendering the sahanA.

The shree was very good and was followed a somewhat mediocre rendition of saravana bhava guhanE in kannada. The main was a 1 hour RTP .13 minutes of alApana of hemavati was quite good. The violin return was a bit out of proportion stretched almost to 10 minutes. TAnam was excellent close to about 9 minutes .The pallavi was bit long , manOdharmam was more exhibited in the swaram .

After a lacklustre tani by arunprakash, an outstanding picturesque krithi describing chidambaram temple was rendered by gurucharan(this appeared brilliant in sequence).IIRC, I have heard the same krithi "KAnamal veenilE" in dhanyAsi too. The
next slokham was very nice , though I was not sure if it is darbAri kAnaDa or brindAvana sAranga. The krithi in darbAri kAnaDa was appealing. Hindi Bhajan was not too appealing .The last basanth bahAr tillana was just ok, I just felt he needed more practice to be delivered in the concert . Desh was good .

THe proportion element of the violinist play in alApanai was always long. Also the nAdham of Smt Lagudi was average. ArunprakAsh played ok for most of the songs. He has a peculiar style where he takes one krithi in early part of the concert (this time it was Ahiri),where for almost 2/3rd of the krithi he just uses his left index finger to play very lightly, and then he goes into a fairly set pattern for a krithi . I certainly did not like that style of play.
