Have you wished for a handy way to look up the sāhitya for a composition ?
Have you thought of a certain kṛti, and wanted a quick way to find others in the same rāga ?
Have you ever, while listening to an instrumental concert, recognized a rāga, but just cannot remember the kṛti ?
Have you wanted to make a quick comparison of the ārŏhanam and avarŏhanam of different rāgas ?
At SRUTI, the Philadelphia Indian music and dance society, It is our pleasure to unveil a new addition to our website - the Sruti sangīta sāhitya sangraha (4S) tool. The first edition of the 4S tool is going live today, on the occasion of SRUTI Tyagaraja Day, 2014. This edition will contain all of satguru Tyagaraja’s compositions. Future editions will include other composers, as well as more multimedia features. It is built using modern data visualization techniques, and allows the user to access a large amount of information within a few clicks without ever leaving the page.
Currently it performs best in the Chrome browser. Safari and Firefox are also acceptable. Unfortunately it is not yet Internet Explorer compatible.
We are working on mobile and touchscreen versions. Stay tuned.
The tool can be found at http://www.sruti.org/4S
A tutorial and explainer can be found on our Sruti Smrti blog at http://srutiphila.tumblr.com/post/80372 ... er-for-the
A 10 minute tutorial video can be found at http://youtu.be/-xSu98QCSLA
Rasikas' comments and suggestions are most welcome. Hope you have an enjoyable and fruitful experience with the tool.

Re: 4S - A new Interactive Carnatic Tool
Balaji,
Great demo yesterday and I think it's a very useful tool which will have an even greater value when audio is embedded into it. Already found use while writing the report for yesterday's wonderful concert by Madurai Sunder.
