I imagine that Sri Rama Varma is her veena guru as well?

Her vocal guru Vid Selvanarayana told me her veena guru was Suma Sudhindra (Chitti babu school) but I would imagine a metamorphosis has taken place much like in her vocal music.

Still on the road, haven't heard the tracks.

Very interesting to know that she is playing and performing veena. I do hope to see a concert.

Almost 6 years ago, I asked her about veena concerts and she replied that she limits them to Bangalore.

But, before she got traction in Chennai as a vocalist, she used to play veena concerts in Chennai too.

Did you notice a little bit of flagging tempo or stamina towards the end of Shankarabharana? I feel this is the trouble for people who are gifted as both instrumentalists and vocalists, they cannot keep up at the top of their capabilities simultaneously. They will have to make a choice....

Lots of musicians play multiple instruments in order to strengthen their artistry. They may not reach the ultimate level of virtuosity in every instrument as that would be very rare. It has nothing to do with "traction" or other commercial/career-promotion interests.
