I came across this wonderful video.Heartfelt thanks to the uploader.
Wonderful 40 mins music by Sri.Seerkazhi Govindarajan accompanied by Maestros - M.S.Anantharaman on violin,Srimushnam Raja Rao on Mridangam & Vikku Vinayakram on Ghatam.
What a Bilahari with not so often heard pidis and what a pristine response on the violin. One can see Kunnakudi in the background appreciating almost every syllable.

This is followed by a very short yet nice thani . Whats amazing is the crowd response. They are whistling clapping & genuinely enjoying the thani which is very rare these days.

Long time rasikas can share their experiences on the audience appreciation for laya then and what went wrong in the interim.

Thanks Gumki for the link. Just superb. I have heard Seergazhi concert only once live.

Noteworthy are his emphasis on sahitya and breaking of lyrics at the correct places. Sruti and laya sudham.

What a majestic MSG bilahari return. A real genius. Kunnakkudi behind MSG could not contain his exhilaration.

The brief brilliant Thani of two stalwarts was a pleasure to listen to.

Then minister Nedunchezian is seated on the floor, thoroughly enjoying the song. He had a double Masters degree, tamizh scholar, superb orator and able administrator. Was a cabinet minister for decades in TN. Could not go higher.
