Good concert after his two lovely concerts during Ramanavami season here (Vani Vidya kendra and Seshadripuram). He has got some captive audiences but yesterday there was very little crowed to appreciate.
There was no rAgam in the rtp since it was robbed by the long speech by the organizers else there was ample time to do a full rtp (personal opinion). He did a rapidfire tAnam followed by pallavi apt to the occassion of Independence day and without
battling an eyelid once he finished the swaras,he started kuranji krithi of dikshithar,too sweet.
The two Alapanas Saveri and Yadhukula kAmbodhi were neatly presented and the YK krithi "swamy mukyaprana" was a pleasant surprise. But personally i felt HamirKalyani after yadhukula kAmbodhi slowed down the tempo irrespective of that
both were meoldic. And the main karahArapriya,unsung till date this season here with Sivan's krithi was a good pick. After the rAgamAlika, he announced that he will end the concert with a pAsuram even though another sindhu bhairavi and presented tirupAvai.

Vid H N Bhaskar (guess Akkarai Swarnalatha was supposed to play as per schedule) in his elements in the tAnam and adept in his returns earlier in sAveri,Ananda Bhairavi and karahArapriya.
Seasoned Mridangist Sri KV Prasad's tani was short and soft without high decibel noise along with Sri Chakravarthy.
Pick of this concert, the neravals he did especially in karahArapriya,sAveri and clever mix of composers going by the list.

One of the few favorite vocalists whom I will go irrespective of distance,time and the rain threat to listen.

Venky, The Swami mukhyaprana song was in Yadukula kambhoji.

The Hamir Kalyani and Kurinji songs came out well in my opinion.
Prasad did very well too in all the songs.

He did Kurinji in madhyama sruti in the pallavi, a derivative of Natakurinji via grahabheda too. Good effect.
