Wonderful voice, and voice control. Trichur bros are fast rising stars in the Carnatic music landscape. Abhishek, Sikkil, Ramakrishnan Murthy and Trichur bros, all part of the younger generation, really excelled this Unnati season.

Spending past few months in Bangalore - but could not attend a single concert since I was staying in the outskirts.
Unnati was the only one close by and attended a few of these.
Abhishek was fabulous, SIkkil to me mediocre (as always
), Ramakrishnan Murthy was good but Trichur Bros to me were plain ordinary.
To me, they sound too "synthetic" - too "set up" and rehearsed...not my cuppa tea!!

To me, Sikkil Gurucharan is most dislikable. IMHO he should take up some other vocation.

I'm afraid it's a bit harsh to put artistes down like that
Gurucharan is the third generation performer of the Sikkil family which has distinguished itself in CM.
Our taste in music determines the way we choose our concerts, I agree. Still, I won't dismiss someone like Gurucharan that hurriedly.

Shri Harishshankark,
Though I honour your views, feel it to be a hasty conclusion. We need not be too harsh.

I do agree with Arasi and Thanjavooran. We all have different tastes and with prior experience we go to a concert with specific expectations and are disappointed when our expectations are not met. Artists also are humans who have their good days and bad days. Would you believe that I turned away totally disappointed by a performance of one of favorite artists, Madurai Somu. I was driven to ecstasy by his very next concert ! I have had similar experiences with doyens, GNB and MMI in the fifties. The moral is that we rasikas cannot dismiss artists wholesale from one performance. Also let us remember one man's "bad cup of tea" may be to the liking of another.
