This young vidhushi started with a delectable shree rAgam varnam and followed with one of my many favourite krithis janaki ramana .The swarams were just good in sudda semmanthani . Where is the distinct assertion , athanalE(that is why??) it did not appear as a perfect atAnA. Her next number in malayamArutham was delivered excellently. Liked her malayamArutham alApanai, she gave the right dose of neraval and the swarams were matched well.
Perhaps the most average rendition was her jyothiswaroopini,even though her alApanai was quite ok, the krithi rendition appeared very lacklustre. An excellent contrast in delivery was her bahudAri, GNB's krithi was delivered very well both in tamil diction and in rAga swaroopam of bahudAri.
Whenever kharaharapriya is rendered as a main, I have this mindset that it should go fairly quite long.To me her alAPanai was detailed, the right alankAram was given in anupallavi, the neraval was very good. But just when I thought she was only reaching 2/3rd quota of neraval, she ended without much of mel kAlam expansion. Swarams followed the same pattern of neraval just giving me a feeling possibly she will have more and more vidwat in the years to come for demonstrating this great rAga kharaharapriya .
The tillAna in mAnd was very good , but the tillana without a prior rAgamaliga viruttam/slokham was a bit disappointing(perhaps I had a feeling that this sabha with just a crowd of 20 was unfortunately not motivating her :rolleyes:).Good mridangam support but the tani was below average. KV Gopalakrishnan played very very less. The violinist was only ok to good most of the time, some times the nAdham of her violin was not appealing.
