Nice concert for an hour with young performers, Shiv being an NRI trained by Vid. Vani Sateesh. The diction was noteworthy.

1. Sri Mahaganapathe - Natai - Adi (Sketch(B), S)

8. Speech
9. Krishna Nee Begane - Y.Kalyani - M. Chapu
10. Pavamana - Madhyamavati - Adi

Superb concert by Balakrishna and Vamsi which brought a lot of Vishraanti to the audience. A gimmick free concert of pure music. Wish it was longer - started late. Applaud Vishesha fine arts for featuring instrumentalists in general and Veena/Flute duo in particular. Need more of these in Bangalore. More later.

g-g,

The third song is nIku tanaku RnA- [RNI-bhAvamu], I presume. It is an uncommon song of tyAgarAja which P.S.Narayanaswamy has taught many of his students.

The song list for the Vamshidhar-Balakrishna duo is a worthy one. I strongly recommend their duet concerts to all rasikas.

Thanks. Updated. Agree wholeheartedly. Balakrishna's unhurried approach can get infectious. The Mysore style is self evident in the veena playing. I just wish that he performs more - with full length concerts - 2.5+ hrs w/o speeches. Coming to speeches - Ranganath Chakravarthy did a splendid job. Speeches can be a drag in many sabhas in bangalore - often eating into a possible RTP in concerts.
