I am very well aware that our Chennaites are always used to look our entire Karnatak-music Vocal-oriented. Thus, they all are used only to record the music of either Vocal or Instrumental-music and preserve. They are never used to take videos of Instrumental-music for educational purpose bringing out the rare finger-techniques of our giant-artists for the benefit of the aspirants learning instruments. Thus, even though we are far wealthier than any other Violinist on the globe in respect of Violin-playing-techniques, very sadly, we have lost all this wealth due to the sheer negligence of our Chennaites.

Now, having seen this luring title and expecting to find some interesting finger-techniques of the giant-artist, Lalgudi, I have most inquisitively downloaded both the videos. But, as usual, I couldn’t find any to my utter disappointment.

After going through these videos I had a doubt whether is it necessary to take videos of the speaker who merely talks about the musical aspects only but not any technical aspects of the Violin-playing of the artist.

More over, while the 2nd video is of the duration of hrs.2.43.32 the first 5 minutes only has the video and later for few minutes with repeated music only surprisingly. amsharma

Dear brother-member, hnbhagavan, Very sadly enough not only the musicians and music-lovers but even the reputed music-organizations in Chennai also have very conveniently been overlooking the needs of the poor aspirants and doing very little in this respect. In my serious observation I have also found that these poor aspirants in Chennai have mostly been relying upon the local concerts in acquiring knowledge than the so called music-teachers as these teachers everywhere follow the same tradition of teaching very sincerely. Very sadly, everywhere the poor aspirants are neglected by one and all and no one even looks into their needs and tries to fulfill. amsharma
