Abhilash(never knew his expanded last name as Giriprasad) is a really superb artist . I have had 2 to 3 occassions where I heard him live. What is noteworthy about him is there is a real vocal weight in his sangathis . I had a chance to hear the above concert link in parts - it shows his creative spark.
Wish Abhilash gets more opportunities to perform he can reach a status of his grand paramaguru Semmangudi ,with the able guidance of his guru AS Murali and blessing of his paramaguru PSN.

Same boy who participated in Carnatic Music Idol and DD's Nadh Bhed. Good singer with superb control over laya. I believe he is trained in playing mrudangam by Sri. Srimushnam Raja Rao.

Prahalad
Yes his laya control is very good though the thumping is slightly on the high side . I never knew that he is trained by vidwan raja rao - that is news to me.

No doubt, Chi.Abhilash is talented and live up to the expectations of many Vidwans and Vidushis, his Parents and Gurus in the near future.
But I want to share 'one disconcerting moment' observed in the episode of Naad Bhed performance. He performed a well practiced nadai in mel kala svarakalpana and a mischievous smile flashed observing the discomfiture of the accompanying violnist in playing. I wish this state of mind is corrected at the earliest by his parents and Gurus or by himself, to mature in to a good Vidwan.
