Per schedule Prof T N Krishnan was supposed to perform on this day and i stumbled
upon RKM's page couple of days back found that he is performing here. Was happy
to hear him right next to my place.
Normally I miss Kanchi mutt Navrathri series due to Kolu (Bommai Golu) at home
as we do it in a grandeur manner for 9 days. This year we are celebrating in a
miniscule way which helped me in attending these concerts.
There was lot of young crowd at the venue and by the start the concert the small
mutt hall was full. Heard many have turned up following the internet information.
Power of internet to Carnatic music.
And I did mention earlier here that RKM is one of the musician I will go beyond
time, distance and direction to listen while he came next to my house I was
very happy.
RKM did a lovely varnam (ST) in kApi followed by brisk kanjadalAyadAkshi with swaras
flowing. Ananda bhairavi was melodic.Kalyani,my favorite, alapana was elaborate
and the neraval and kalpana swaras were beautiful. Ananthakrishnan did a good
job in kalyAni both in Alapana and swaras.
Usual 'Thunderous

was received with thunderous applause.
Quick chat with him post the concert found he is going to perform 3 concerts
here in Bangalore during October/November.
Already 4 concerts till now in Bangalore another 3 to go, RKM has truly
arrived here in Bangalore circuit. He also got captive rasikas could
see some familiar faces in last 2-3 concerts.
