DrMNarmadha's MSG Sir Tribute Violin Solo at Laya Madhura

Post by vasudevan »

Hello Rasikas,

DrMNarmadha's extraordinary sense of melody reigned topmost in this entire concert.
The concert started a bit late.
Initially Sri Thiruvarur Bakthavathsalam recalled his association with MSG Sir and Cleveland VVSundaram who presided gave a scintillating talk on his association with the acclaimed MSG.

Sri VVSUNDARAM complimented Dr.Narmadha as the true torch bearer of the ParurMSG tradition and her virtuosity in Hindustani and Karnatic music.
Dr.Narmadha in her speech praised Sri VVSundaram as the Cleveland Tyagaraja and recalled her association with Thiruvarur Bakthavatsalam while performing duets with her father.Image

The concert began with a brisk 2 speed single string Saveri varnam and a very bright Vatapi.

The melodic fragrance from Narmadha's violin was very Divine. She gave a very crisp pre amble to each of the items presented.
A very fast rendering of Raghuvamsa Sudha took the audience to exciting heights.
A soulful Palukave in Purnacandrika was followed by Maamava Meenakshi in Varali.
It was a superb rendering and flashed the memory of the Hindustani Todi.
At every point the precision and the accuracy of the delineation was awesome.
She sang the portions of the sahitya in the beginning of the songs and I must say that this elevated the mood and tempo of the concert.
The Tani by Madipakkam Suresh;Sankar was very interesting.
A pleasant surprise was Sara Sara Samare in Kuntalavarali after the Tani .
Her Behag took us to Varanasi with a lilting Tulsidas Bhajan.

Saubhagya Dara Lakshmi Baaramma marked the end of this concert with the audience wanting for more.
The good turn out of the audience was a pleasing factor and this concert for me was a very brilliant concert by DrMNarmadha .

Thanks and regards

NICE TO HEAR A GOOD ACCOUNT & see Pics OF DR.M.N.'S CONCERT AS WELL AS HER PROWESS AS MSG "VARISU"; Sri.Nagai Murali by being present in the front row (LIKE THE VERY SENIOR VIDWAN GURUVAYOOR DORAI attending the concert) is a heart warming experience to a person like me also...It is clear proof of the current generation of artists encouraging a fellow violinist & the open mindedness of the artists of this generation.
