CURRENT DATE POSTING TO APPEAR IN FIRST PAGE

Respected MODs,
In all the threads, the current posting in any thread appears in the last page of the thread.
It will be helpful if the current posts appear in the first page in all the threads.
Kindly consider the suggestion and do the needful.

That is a good suggestion to have the most recent post to appear first - like in the mail boxes. But, I feel bad to ask if it is going to be a lot of work for the MODs.

I always look at the New-Posts page, and I am fairly sure that is most-recent first.

Not in my mail box. For those things, time and logic, for me, work just as we read: down the page!

I would imagine it would be just a changed setting for the phpBB forum "show most recent first" or some such thing.

I don't think you really want this. Imagine 5 posts that have been made since you last read the particular discussion. You will have to scroll down first anyway to locate the last post read, and then scroll up from there. I don't think it will be particularly useful.

What you really want is the 1st unread post to show up right on top, so you can start there. That may not be particularly easy to do.

You may not know this, but if you click on the small red star in the front of the topic, it will take you to the last post read. It can be quite useful. It is a bit small and hard to do from a handheld.

Oh, I'm sorry. Guilty of not reading properly before responding! If my previous post didn't make sense that is because... it didn't make sense. I got it in my head that it was the forum front page that was being talked about.

As Suresh says, there is the option of going straight to the first unread post in a thread. There is also a link at the top right of each forum page to go to the first unread post.
