Ananya Ashok - outstanding you were today at R.R.Sabha.going back in time sounded like a good idea,I am referring to the Krithis you chose to sing today..Imagine a time machine taking us back into the MS era.Two of my favourites of the ever great MS first one Harikambhoji and the next punnagavarali.brilliantly rendered by you today.”Rama Nannu Brovara” in Harikambhoji –what a Bhakthi Rasa it was –unique to the Raga.being a Sampoorna Raga - a septatonic mode using all seven notes.Rather difficult to travel through Harikambhoji-small deviations, one would slip into host of neighbouring Ragas.It was a splendid performance and ensured perfection as all notes are Jeeva Swaras to maitain the image of the Raga.and it was lambent. And the Punnagavarali-My God ! you just melted with Bhakthi making the pleading to Ambal felt throughout the auditorium .And when you presented it in Madhyama sruthi the basic Karuna Rasa the Raga depicts was in tact.You will certainly reach heights with your commitment and devotion-Sakala Loka Sakshi !
The brief Saranga ,Nee vada” was again superb.The main piece of Lalithadasar in Saveri was too good and the detailed alapana stands a testimony of the tutelage.and a brilliant support by Vijay Muralidharan and Akshay Anantapadmanabhan
And finally I have to only ask Ashok Subramaniam “ Enna Thavam Seidhanai “one small suggestion, When giving stage performances you have to be Impervious But on the whole Great.Keep it up.
