Re: sArasadaLa nayanE - meaning request
Lakshman ji is there an audio track? There are some words that are clearly incorrect in the ciTTasvara sAhitya #5 and 6.

Re: sArasadaLa nayanE - meaning request
The first word should be sArasadaLa nayananE since this is an address in Tamil.

Rajani - that is a correction I had made, but in #5 and #6, some of the words are rather difficult to fix!

Re: sArasadaLa nayanE - meaning request
Lakshman Ji sent me the notations for this svarajati - the driving force for the composition is, IMO, the svarAkshara sAhityam - simply beautiful.
But I think that may have resulted in usage of words that are tough for me, as well as a bit forced.
Here is my attempt - hopefully, Rajani, Arasi, Punarvasu and others will correct me.
pallavi
sArasadaLa nayananE murugA guhA dayAvahanE SANmukhanE
Oh murugA who has eyes (nayananE) like the petals (daLa) of a lotus (sArasa), Oh guhA [1], the compassionate one (dayAvahanE), the six-faced one (shaNmukhanE)!

[3] extending (his) feet - figure of speech to grant assylum

Re: sArasadaLa nayanE - meaning request
my two cents:
dala nayanA,dala nayanE and dala nayananE allthe three are acceptable.
pallavi-dayAparanE instead of dayAvahane
anupallavi: tunai/un/padame
cittaswaram 4-sukham peruga
grant me the boon ) for increased bliss.
5- tAmadam miga, adhu enaku sukhamA?
(when) delay increases, is it a pleasure for me?
tani virahamA?
me alone suffer the separation(question) ?
idu sammadamA?
is it acceptable to you ?
iduvum tagumA?
is it fair ?
darani tanil nAn unai adaiya
in this world for me to reach you
mA karunai idA ?
is it great compassion ?
idamAga nAm enraNai
( so) embrace me delicately(making)you and me together
6-----bAdagamAm unai marandhAl
it will be detrimental if you are forgotten
ena sAmi nI uraithadhai
that is what you said , oh God
nAn sadA nidamAga (nijamAga is also possible )
everyday, constantly( truely) I
manadArave irutti, sannidi tanil,
keeping it in mind and in your precincts,
adi vEgamAga manamagizhndu
very quickly I become happy
unadarul mArgam AginEn
