As it happened to Sri gardabha_gana,I drove all the way from Rajarajeshwari Nagar to Indra nagar.it was an excellent concert.Saroja dala nethri -rarely heard was very enjoyable.good violin support and a tani which still reverberates in my ears led by Sri Tiruchi Shankaran.
A disappointing crowd for such a wonderful concert.
This festival for a change has encouraged artists who are not featured regularly.Notable omissions from the festival . popular names - Sanjay,Malladi,Sudha etc .
M S Sheela of Bangalore is the PURANDARA AWARDEE.Younger artists like Gayatri and Pattarabha Pandit are featured.

The publicity for the event is abysmal - It was not featured in Prajavani or DeccanHerald. The only reason I stumbled upon this was due to jayan's site.

Sadaa Madini (thyagaraja) is popular but rare krithi in Gambhiravani.

KpJayan Website is the best place to find out the concerts. Indiranagar sangeetha sabha has a website and all these events are mentioned.Newspaper publicity is poor.The members of the sabha also seem to be indifferent to the events.A similar organisation Nadasurabhi attracts larger audiences.Sri KSS Raghavan one of our forumites gives excellent publicity and even communicates to members by E-mail.
However I complement Indira Nagar Sabha for featuring lesser popular artists and giving chances to young artists like gayatri,Pattabhirama pandit etc.
This is a welcome change as sabhas feature only Bombay Jayashree,sudha Raghunathan,Sanjay Subramanyam.This is not to say that they should not be featured,but only to emphasize equitable distribution and chance to other good artists.
