A wonderful concert by Kumari S. Aishwarya in Gayana Samaja on 24th January 2015

Thanks to livestream I was able to listen to the program - I was very impressed with how well Cienu conducted the event - from what I hear from Sri MKR, I feel he was channeling his illustrious grandfather (Sri TS)!

And a beautiful concert that followed - lovely enduku peddala still in my thoughts! And what an amazing tani!

It was as moving as you can imagine, and you got to see it (all of it?) too. Thanks to streaming!

It was wonderful to hear 'chEta Sri', that one song which was played from the CD. It was an experience I shall cherish. To have her daughter, and her singing great grand children there on stage then was something (Saundarya sang the invocation in her lovely voice).

Aishwarya started with the tODi VarNam ErA nApai in a confident and brisk way. AngArakam, which she dedicated to the chief guest followed. Then came a class act...her ShanmukkapriyA rAgA. Siddhi vinAyakam was the kriti. She sang svarams with verve.

As you say, the SankarAbharaNam segment too was very impressive.

The tani was thrilling. The way TKM poured his energy and soul into the whole concert came to a head in that tani which his disciple Manjunath added more beauty to. 'like a nineteen year old he played!' Cienu said, and how true!

All the short pieces which followed, Aishwarya did justice to. Bless her!

I was glad to say hello to Munirao who was sitting with the dignitaries. So, couldn't exchange many words. My pal Neela Ramgopal was there too (Saundarya has started learning from her now. Good for her).

Cienu must have run up and down the stage a few dozen times, at least. Yes, he is very good at hosting

Aishwarya, a triumphant concert to you in Dubai as well!

AGE DEFYING!

A doyen and legend TKM Sir, 91, giving accompaniment to Aishwarya with all the seriousness, care, mastery, energy and enthusiasm and love; Aishwarya, just 19, planning the concert and performing to her best of talent and training, conforming to sampradaya, with uncommon and rare maturity; were just age defying and gladdened the manas of Sri Radhakrishnan, Sangita Kala Acharya Neela Ramagopal and this humble self. Also the accompaniment and playing of Senior Violin maestro Sri CNC and Vid.Manjunath on the second and support mridangam ( at times, when I closed my eyes, I experienced and felt TKM Sir,much younger in age, was playing. One did not miss noticing TKM Sir watching his talented sishya picking up his hints on the embellishments and give him happiness with very good playing by Vid.Manjunath.
Aishwarya's raaga delineations of Shanmukapriya and Shankarabharanam, did show case her manodharma and its potentialities and possibilities, to achieve much higher levels, in the near future. I wish Aishwarya is much more attentive on the kaalapramanam of Mudduswami Deekshita's madhyama kaalam and patanthara sudhatvam, in this concert, Angaraka Maashrayaami.
I had the opportunity to spend quality moments with DR.Radha Viswanathan, a maestro, recalling more than 50 years of association with MSSAmma and her family and getting Mami's blessings.

Arasi, are we destined only for saying'hello' to each other and exchanging greetings, I felt bad.

Well, I had to draw your attention because you were sitting in the front row and could not see the back rows. As I said, I didn't want to be rude and interrupt when you were conversing with the VIPs. Also, we didn't meet outside the hall. I am acquainted with several Bengaluru rasikAs , and our brief conversation takes place mainly outside the hall as we wait for our conveyance

It's difficult to recognize people in a crowd but I it was easy for me, having seen you in the tambura artistes fund drive pictures.

And above all, a very high profile artist Dr. TK Murthy performing at the age of 91, when Kumari S. Aishwarya is 19, interestingly/coincidently!

The abundantly talented, highly dedicated & hard working young vocalist Kum. S. Aishwarya, d/o Smt. Geeta & Sri. Srinivasan, brimming with “WILL DO” mindset, did full justice to everything and more. In the end, it was a highly memorable concert, applauded and appreciated by all present. It was the quality that mattered.

Commencing her rich-in-content concert with a Todi varnam, Era Napai, Aishwarya invoked Sri Venkateshwara followed by Angaraka Mashrayam, which was aptly dedicated by her to Dr. K. Radhakrishnan for his excellent contribution, for Mangal yaan, to our nation as a scientist. Further, Aishwarya took Siddhi Vinayakam in Shanmukhapriya Ragam & followed by the list as mentioned above, an unforgettable event for the span of 120 minutes, nonstop! She sang Maithreem Bhajatha followed by PAVAMANA to bring the curtains down to a highly memorable concert.

Satisfied audience, happy parents, The “CAN-DO-WILL-DO” minded Aishwarya, WELL DONE. Kudos to her Gurus & ever encouraging, supporting parents. You must thank your parents & Gurus, Aishwarya. And, of course, I thank your father Mr. Srinivasan for inviting me to attend.

At the outset, I wish to thank Neela Mami, Arasi and Sri Munirao who had come for the function. Also thank you Arasi, Muniraoji, Sri V K Raman, Ravi, Bhumicon, Sri KV Chellappa and Lavanya for your kind words. Please find below a few pictures of the memorable evening of 24th Jan 2015 for the benefit of all rasikas with my comments.

Dr T K Murthy was amongst the first to arrive (almost an hour early), being welcomed by Sri G V Krishna Prasad and S.Aishwarya.

As Sri MKR had mentioned in a different thread Murthy Mama is a brilliant raconteur and here he has Smt Neela Ramgopal and Sri Krishna Prasad in splits.
