A very nice concert by Sri Varadarajan and his team. Starting off with Sri raga varnam in a Brisk unison, the concert was presented with focussed demeanour. The Kutcheri was a nice blend of beautiful songs and perfect team work, be it the rendering of Alapana or kalapana swarams.
However Sri Varadarajan's versatility and identity as an ace soloist came into light with his elegant exposition of his Bhairavi. Always in control, letting his Music speak, blending melody,rhythm, soul and creativity in every note he played, he connected with the rasikas perfectly. With his Guru Sri T.V. Gopalakrishnan gracing the concert just for the main, it was such a gratifying experience witnessing his humility and immense Guru Bhakthi too.

Sri kumbakonam Swaminathan complimented the team with his timely reply and melodic Thani.
Sri vijay's playing of kAnada and the Behag shows promises of another talented musician in the making.
Nice music. Left the hall praying for many more rasikas to encourage this wonderful musician and many more solo kutcheris of his to follow in the future.

Wish I were there!
Well, I was there when Varadu played for his guru (who was honored by NAdopasana and friends) at the same venue early in January. Still thinking of the music they made, with the guru exclaiming 'balE varadA' here and there!'

Wishing the youngsters who also played the violin with Varadu a bright future.
