A very soulful concert by Amrutha and team for the ongoing Rama navami concert series organized by the Rajarajeshwari cultural Sabha.

With Jaya Jaya Jaya Janakikanta, the kutchery took off with a burst only to soak us with her "Bhavayami Raghuramam". Each ragam of this song was approached with a divine subtelty that added beauty to the raga and bringing out the meaning of the song in a way that could only be felt and not explained.

Vandan Vandan Bharata in Mohanam was again presented at a brisk pace with a short alapana. By unravelling her imagination in kalpana swaram at "Vandan", she brought out the happiness this five note raga can emote.

The main attraction of the evening though was the Madyamavathi that she presented. The elaborate raga that she unfolded with such melody, confidence, her pleasing brigas, travelling from one octave to another effortlessly, creating a neat foundation for the song that she presented was a feast to the ears.
Very apt for the occassion, she chose "Rama Katha Sutha", where Tyagaraja praises the greatness and healing power of listening to Rama's story.
Starting off with a slow pace, Neraval at "Bhama mani Janaki Saumitri Bharatadulato Bhoomi velayu" was in tune with the rich meaning of this composition. A gradual and entertaining build up of the kalpanaswara to madhyama kala made for a delectable experience.

The team were in the same wavelength throughout the concert, and the joy and harmony that they shared was palpable and infectious.

Ending with Bhadrachala Ramadasar's Mangalam, it was a concert with a good blend of variety, melody and classicism making it a wholesome one.

Could not help but notice the "Ramar green" saree she wore. A sensitive and sensible musician indeed !

Rasikapriya2015,
Nice song selection . Also the sabha being raja rajeshwari there was one drop with the sabha in mind away from rama navami Lord ramA. Correct me if I am wrong this sabha is in thillai ganga nagar in nanganallur , and not velachery. When you put the event post informing about the concert , I thought it was a new sabha in thillai ganga nagar, nanganallur .

This raja rajeshwari sabha are upcoming sabha and hence donot advertise concerts in the hindu. Could you give the list of other artists and schedules as part of ongoing series?

Thank you for pointing out the location error. Have corrected it.
As you rightly said, this sabha does not advertise their concerts in "The Hindu".
I got to know the concert details from Amrutha's official face book page.
I am afraid I do not know the other events organized by this sabha.

There was only one advt in The Hindu on 14th March (Engagment Column)about the whole programme which include Trichur V RAmanchandran, Vijay Siva, Enjikudi , Ramakrishna Murthy and Amrutha Venkatesh. Fortunate to attend both RKM and Amrutha - both were brilliant While RKM's Nattakurunji RTP was class, Amrutha Vnkatesh Bhavayami was divine.

Rajesh,
Your dream is coming true--more and more concerts far from the hub but close enough for music lovers is several areas is happening!

Sounds like a very good concert by Amrutha V. Wish I had heard her during the season as I had planned. I had to miss her concert due to a last minute need of my having to be elsewhere at that time.

Besides all her other merits, her smoothness in delivery and the confidence she carries with ease also appeals to me.
