Carnatica Brothers, Cleveland Aradhana 2015

Carnatica Brothers Ganesh and Shasikiran gave an outstanding conert at The Aradhana. I was waiting for Sri Sundararajan or Arasi for the Review, as I did mot want to hog all the reviews.
Swathi Tirunal's Kamboji Varnam ' Sarasijanabha' was the starter.
Then a song of Patnam subramaniam Iyer that started with ' paluka,. It was a new raga to me and they announced it, but I cannot hear it. Most of the people talk in very low voice and it is hard for senior citizens to hear them, I miss many things because of this.
The next one was Dikshitar's Ekambresa Nayike' about the Devi at Kancheepuram. This is in tne ragam Karnataka Suddha Saveri. This beautiful song was sung very well by the brothers with niraval, swarams at
Pamara jana palini. Of the two brothers, I don't know who is who- But both of them sang wonderful swara korvais.
Following this, they sang Thyagaraja's Begada raga kriti 'Lokavana chatura'.
Now they sang an old kriti (I don't hear anybody sing it). 'Yaar poi solluvar' in Todi. This padam is composed by Ganam Krishna Iyer and would be well-suited for Bharatanatyam. I think I have seen this dance, when I was young.
They announced they were going to sing in the raga Soolini, which is the 35th Melakartha ragam, as this is the year 2015- and 20+15 made 35, hence that number raga and it was in Tisra triputa talam as the date was the 7th. But I had to go somewhere, and couldn't listen to the whole song and the rest of the concert.
The concert was ver well sung. Both the brothers were very good with singing swarams and sing together. Nice concert.

SUlini was taken up for RTP and they sang it so well. Nagai M's playing the rAgA was tremendous.

I wish I had the time, focus and energy to write reviews like you! I have written about this concert in the Cleveland ArAdhanA Festival thread on the 8th.

yAr pOi solluvAr is a unique song and I have also heard Jayalakshmi Santhanam sing it with such classicism
