Eesha,
Good to know about this concert. We do hope a number of rasikas get round to attending this. If we can hear it too, it will be nice. Cleveland this year paid homage to her and brought her back in many of its programs, and almost every artiste sang at least one song from her repertoire.
There are thematic concerts and thematic concerts! These are the kind we should have more of (Gayathri Girish comes to mind, in all the work and love she puts into thematic concerts). The other kind I'm thinking of is any concert which is given a theme name to whatever songs are presented (so, it's only a concert like any other, but with a title!).
Back to Brinda, the lady needs to be honored and remembered more. In doing so, the students of CM reap the benefits which can be had from listening to and singing her school's musical gems.
I see that vocal support is by Janani Mahalingam. She was Ananthalakshmi Sadagopan's student until she passed away. A soft-spoken young woman I have seen from her girlhood. She sang the invocation for two of my CD releases, for the ones which Sumitra Nitin has sung. Wishing her a rich musical journey, with the guidance of another excellent musician
