Native Bangaloreans will remember Malleswaram Sangeetha Sabha to be among the pioneers in promoting Carnatic Music. It's founder secretary was Sri. T.B. Narasimhachar. He was also a regular reviewer and critic for Deccan Herald, Indian Express and Prajavani under the pseudonym "Saaragrahi". If one frequented the concerts in the Sabha until the 70s and 80s (when I attended) or read the newspaper reviews - you would sure remember him. The family of Sri. TBN is commemorating the centenary with a concert by Vid. Balakrishna. I would suggest rasikas to go through the website above for the wealth of information that the family has collected on this giant personality - as a connoisseur, organizer and critic.
My memories are two fold - remember going every week to my neighbor's house to borrow Deccan Herald to see if there was a review by "Saaragrahi" for my dad until Sri TBN switched to the express - and going to the sabha to enquire who the accompaniments were for the featured performer that would help my dad make up his mind which of the concerts to attend in Bangalore
