Fantastic keeravani alapana flashing brighas here & beaming shades of ilayaraja there... Great summation at the end... Nice interaction with violinist

Voices seem perfect for RTPs. Borrowed a Trichur Bros move during the tanam. Now a pallavi in pancha nadai.

Pancha nadai ( they mistakenly began their description as pancha jati), but turns out to be Khanda jati, panchanadai.. 4,3,7,5,9, eka talam.

I joined the webcast at the end of the keeravani alap by Subbulakshmi, with high speed brighas and heard Hemavati. Sornalatha's beginning was gamaka-laden and was (to me) clearly Keeravani.. Found out that grihabhedam on Keeravani yields Hemavati.

Edit: Listening to the concert again, and the alapana from the beginning, I just could not hear Hemavati again .. - @ vk/g_m

Great virtuosity being exhibited in the RTP, but I am unable to follow it on the webcast even though i know the nadai numbers. I think they should have done a practice avartanam (or 2) - repeating it for us.

During the concert, I had rewound a little to try to understand the tala and missed the Behag swaras in the RTP.. The Desh swaras culminated with a korvai that was taken from the ending of the Desh tillana's ending by LGJ. Listening to the Behag, it seems it was done twice, so I thought I would mention it. The Behag swarams also ended with Sri LGJ's kalpita swaras of his Behag Tillana.

The concert had all the vibrancy & excitement of a live music concert. There were mishaps, recoveries, showmanship, cameraderie - all in good measure. Long time since I attended such an action packed concert.
