Cleveland Sundaram introduced the Vidwans.

Some of the interesting points are as follows.

While talking about Mannarkoil he mentiond as Mannarkudi and then got himself corrected. This Mannarkoil is close to Ambasamudhram in Tiruunelveli Dist. and this Dist too equally famous for producing C Musians as Thanjavur.

His Lec is based on Mahaperiyavaa's lectures.
To name few poets Kapilar a close associate or Pari vallal, Kaliya dhevar, Namiyandan nambi have sung a lot in praise of Lord Ganapathi

My observation

The entire Lec Dem of 2 00 hrs duration was excellent. Dr S mentioned that this is not a Harikatha but only references from Ithihasama and Puranam. He has vast knowledge in Tamil literature. He mentioned that this concept mooted out on Chathurthi day. He divided the episodes in different sections, as Ganesha's association with father , mother , brother and other Gods viz Rama, Krishna and Vibhishana. The demo was excellent . JB Keerthana sang at a lower sruti to match with her guru. She has a very good patantharam and has a bright future. There were 50 Rasikas and all sat till the end. Mannarkovil.s performance as usual was commendable. He knows when to play and when not to, in order to enhance the beauty of the concert. At the end there was a slide show on various forms of Lord Ganesa. To my surprise there was no mention about this programme in the Hindu's Friday issue. Any corrections are quite welcome.
