nIpAdamE gathi nalinakAnthi natajanapAlini - nalinakAnthi (?) - c triputai, atIta eduppu. he also sang the pallavi in tOdi, Anandhabhairavi (that I could detect, no idea if he sang in any other ragams also) and the swaras in tOdi & AB were marvelous. Mixed bag RTP; elaborate but not an immensely satisfying one in my books. Short tani as well. He spoke about atIta eduppu and how this pallavi can be sung in atIta eduppu in tisra/kanda/misra/any nadai.

I missed Suryamurte ! Overall I enjoyed the concert thoroughly and was very happy when he explained the pallavi. Usually what I do is furiously kit down the lines and then see where the eduppu and padagarbham is. The explanation made it easy.

He also sang the palladium in Kalyani in Khanda Nadai. I loved it when he went back to 'Nalinakanti'...

Btw Muruga Muruga was a separate song. And he also clubbed Sri Rama Sri Rama with Napali and Rama Jogi Mandu.

Roughly year back in bhavans kilpauk concert he did a medley of kurinji(napali) khamas(ramajogi) and sahana krithi (shree rama), now he has taken saveri instead of sahana . It is just not without gap that he is singing . He also takes only partial lines for each of the krithi. Certainly I did not like it then , yesterday I was not there at Bharat kalachar, wish abhishek avoids it.

Yeterday, NGS, AR gave another "brilliant" concert. The most important thing is - AR has donated the proceeds of all his concerts during this season for flood affects victims. A great service, indeed. Great human being besides a great vocalist.

At the end of this programme, Sasikiran, cleveland sundaram, Ravikiran, Tanjore murugaboopathi explained the audience the steps taken through various contributions, financial and non-financial.

They also called around 15 artists and donated the amount to them. They are all tavil vidwans, nadaswaran vidwans, even tambura artist (on that day for Abhishek, who has lost every thing).

It was a moving scene as they (recipients) explained the audience what precious items, they lost.

Great moment, indeed. A great "oh pOdu" for Sasikiran and team.

About the NGS concert, I don't want to open a separate thread because each and every concert, he is gaining strength and presenting incredible music. So, let me just write his RTP yesterday.

He took Surutti + Sunadavindohini as RTP (with H N Baskar in violin, Karthick (ghatam)). Tisra jAti triputa. The way in which he traversed from hamsanandi to surutti, - we need to find a superlative word in dictionary to praise this.

In sanskrit, there is a subhAshitAni- Sky is the strength of birds, water is the strength of fish, king is the strength of weak and wailing is the strength of baby. For abhishek his strength is his tAlam. He thinks so fast to create tAlam on the spot. Controlling his tAlam and changing from hamsanandi to surutti is not easy. He has got Goddess Saraswathi,s pUrna katAksham..
