Usually it is a continuation. But a few times they add a few pieces from the previous portion as time fillers. This is what happened last year too. I like this 2 slot format followed by Jaya TV ( for most artistes) better than what the previous format ( under Maximum Media preparation ) offered; that was mostly compressed..song based ... only one slot.... mostly omitting manOdharma aspects etc. Left us wondering what the left-out portions/songs were.

I'm glad you could hear her beautiful music unlike us here in bengaluru (how's it eleswhere in India?).The cable man says it has been so with Jaya TV the past few days. I didn't mind the distortion in the image on the screen that much, but the sound was awful, her voice sounded strangulated most of the time Hope the problem is rectified soon.

Any idea when and where MMU is being telecast?

Generally while telecasting the concert lot of mistakes were noticed in displaying the raga names and the composers name etc. To day's cocert was by Rajesh vaidhya. In that desh as base and Muthu Kumarasamy Dikshadar against MD. IMO Artistes can insist on checking before telecast.

They displayed kaapi as kapu.!Anyways,their airing quality is really good.Enjoyed the detail natakuranji by AR and thani of N.C.Bharadwaj.One disciple who will make UKS proud.

I watched part of it. Was happy to see our Satya in the ensemble. Even heard him play melodiously a short segment. Too many percussion instruments, in my view.
Bharadwaj was very good. Still, he's not the only one among UKS's sishyAs who plays well. Our Ram does too...

They have even displayed wrong names of artists. For Abhishek Raghuram, violin was by L.Ramakrishnan. They showed as Mysore Srikanth. Even Mridangam, they showed the name Tumkur Ravisankar. But I think the person was different.

Today Visaka Hari's musical discourse with full bench. Sub : Moonru saranagathigal. As usual more musical than Harikatha with Alapanai, Niraval , Swaram and Thani. Rasikas appreciated the performance arranged by TV Authorities.

A question on the Abhishek Raghuram concert on Vijay TV: did he sing two songs in Kanada? He sang Mariyemi Kavalenu (Kanada?) and one of his earlier pieces seemed to be Kanada as well. Thought I'll ask as, usually, we don't see artistes performing two songs in one raaga in the same concert. Thoughts appreciated.

Aruna sai ram on 09 01 2016. A very nice concert. She mentioned that Gopalakrishna Bharathi met St T once at Thiruvaiyaru. Her Nattakurinji kriti Vazhimaraithirukkudhe was excellent reminding me of the review by Subbudu on MDR"s handling this song.
Today on 11 01 2016 Suchithra Harikatha on Panjali sabhatham. As usual Kalyanai R N S and Thani for 10 mts was the highlight.

11 01 2016 Today evening s/Shri Malladi bros with Embar Kannan on Violin
An excecllent concert full of Annamacharya's kritis.
Anandhabyravi in which Annamacharya describes the sequence of Abhishgam to Lord Venkateswara. A running commentary as mentioned by Bros.
Kamaz kriti was good. The continuation of the concert will be tomorrow evening. His explanation of the compositions in English and Tamil was educative.
