NJ Nandini for @ Charsur NGS Mini, 24/12/2015

Post by sankark »

L Ramakrishnan violin, B Ganapathiraman mridangam, H Prasanna ghatam

nIkEla nAyada - dEvamanOhari - Adi - RSI (raga sketch, s@sAkEtapura)
*vElum mayilumE - sucaritrA - rUpakam - KI
pAhimAm sri rAjarAjeswari - janaranjani - Adi - Ramaswamy Sivan (rs@krpAkari sankari). sung at the not breakneck speed but at a little more sedate one and very charming. is it jagatpravAhini or dayApravhini. She sang the chittaswarams in 3 speeds - I mean 3 speeds for one full essay of chittaswarams, not thrice in 3 speeds
*pAhi rAma dhUta - shadvidamArgini - rUpakam - T
parama purusham hrdya bhAvayE - lalitapanchamam - k cApu - ST (ns@muraLinAdha vivita .. lalita panchamam). Awesome it was. The violinist matched her through out.
*enduku nirdaya - harikAmbhOji - Adi - T (rn@parama pAvana s@enduku, tani). fantastic alapanai; she just belted out sangatis with no excursion into the s'bharanam or kambhoji zones. BG simply rocked for this one. As I noted down, "no words to describe the beauty with which he embellished the song". An energetic thani.
*vadivEl murugA - tAnarUpi - Adi - NS Chidambaram (tuned by Tanjore Kalyanaraman)
alivEni endhu - kurinji - cApu - ST

Not a concert, an experience - except for audible breathing now and then; very high pitch voice but not weighty. Wish she had a weighty voice.

* - charsur has asked the artistes (18 overall) to handle 4 mElakartas (either sampoorna or asampoorna) each to cover the 72. The *ed items were NJN's choices

PS: Could lalita panchamam show a similarity to vasanta?
