A very good concert on the whole by the whole team. Bharathi was excellent with her pitch perfect rendition of all kritis. Her voice was heavier than usual but she didnt let that come in the way of her singing and in fact used it to her advantage. Vittal Rangan was very good on the violin- this is the first time I am listening to him.Of course, J Balaji is a senior mridangist, and his experience clearly came out in the way he modulated his playing depending on the pace of the song

The highlight of the concert for me was Soundararajam in brindavana saranga - Beautifully rendered by Bharathi and Vittal Rangan followed her like a shadow. Balaji also played in a subdued manner highlighting the mood of the song.

Nice to see that the hall was almost full. Noticed an AIR mic, so this concert will probably be telecast on AIR sometime?

She sang Alapanai for Anandabhairavi too. Very good and enjoyable music - nidAnam, clarity/articulation/proununciation. kEdaram was sung at such a lovely pace.

Great to see importance given to the trinity songs. Have heard her once before. Has one of the best female voices today with a nice texture and abundant talent. Needs to be channelled properly into presenting better concerts. This sounds like it was a good one. Will try catching her somewhere else.

Amazing voice and great sincerity. I liked her at the Music Academy too. She is certainly under rated.

Related to the kEdAram piece, has MD composed 5 kritis for one each of the sabhais like the pancha bhuta sthala kritis?

Ananda natana prakasam itself is on chidambaram which is one of the pancha bootha stalas. Akasa lingam. However sabhais not sure. But it is an interesting point to do some research.

I have a frd kanniks kannikeshwaran from the US who has done some research on MD sahityams. I could ask him when i have a chance to chat up.
