I assumed that KSSR was going for the 'aNNalum nOkkinAn, avaLum nOkkinAL' effect!!kssr wrote:hnbhagavan: Title needs to be edited. It gives a "wrong" impression
aNNal (annal) in tamizh means something lofty (in addition to meaning a God, or a great man)....

Re: Nadasurabhi Annal festival 2016
In this quote, aNNal is Rama and avaL is Sita. First time I heard Sri.TNS sing this in Raja Muthiah Chettiar Hall?? (Tamil Isai Sangam??) in Chennai, I was bewitched by it s beauty. The song is set such that the first half 'aNNalum nOkkinAn' goes in the ascending scale of swaras showing Rama was at the street level looking up at sita in the balcony and 'avaLum nOkkinAL' in the descending scale to show that sita is looking down from the balcony. Amazing creativity.rshankar wrote:I assumed that KSSR was going for the 'aNNalum nOkkinAn, avaLum nOkkinAL' effect!!kssr wrote:hnbhagavan: Title needs to be edited. It gives a "wrong" impression

Annal sounds like the elder brother of the word with one n less and adds unintended 'f'un which kssr has been quick to point out. While the elder brother is respectable, Nadasurabhi may require a better sounding word too!
